Notes
It’s Christmas year-round in North Pole, Alaska—just 20 minutes away from Fairbanks. You’ll find candy canes painted on city streets and holiday parades in July. And at the hub of the festivities is Santa Claus House, a frontier general store and post office turned holiday shop. The postal tradition lives on—official Letters from Santa are postmarked from the North Pole and stamped with an official Santa seal. And today, the store includes live reindeer, a coffee shop, holiday gift items, the world’s largest Santa statue and, in summer months and over holidays, Santa himself. If it is closed, you will walk around in North Pole enjoying the Reindeer, and photos with the world’s largest santa.
Time: 17:30-03:00 (6.5h)
Chena Hot Springs is an unincorporated community in the Fairbanks North Star Borough that is renowned for its hot springs and private resort. These destinations, in addition to a campground, are located at the end of Chena Hot Springs Road, a forest-flanked paved road that parallels the Chena River, 56 miles east of the Steese Highway and Fairbanks. The recreation area is home to some of the best hiking, canoeing, public-use cabins and fishing in the area.

Tour Contents: Before Europeans arrived in Alaska, dog sledding was already a very important part of Alaskan local life. Even today, dogsleds continue to be used in remote portions of Alaska for daily travel needs. On this tour, snuggle under a warm blanket with a friend and enjoy the rush of a brisk 30-minute sled ride through the beautiful forests of Alaska. Your musher will happily take photos for you and with you. You will be won over by both these enthusiastic Alaskan Huskies and their mushers.

Usually, time on site is about 1 hour, after which you will return to your hotel where you can rejoin the tour for lunch and the Fairbanks City Tour in the afternoon.
*Please note the sleds on this tour variously accommodate 2-4 people and are assigned by weight and the musher’s knowledge of the dogs. You will need to share your sled with other people. Please follow the musher’s guidance when he assigns seating.
